Well, don't worry ...it can handle it. PDF Specs say 10/100/1000 NIC ... so you are all-set.
Wired is always better than WiFi. Good work!

Yes, the XPS 8700 on board NIC will handle speeds up to 1 Gb with no problem. As long as your ISP's modem/router supports RJ45 connectors, you are golden!
My 8700 is sitting in a corner staring at me, wondering why I replaced it...

Well, don't worry ...it can handle it. PDF Specs say 10/100/1000 NIC ... so you are all-set.
