How to upgrade the INSPIRON 1100 BIOS for 80GB HDD?

How to install new 80GB internal HDD to Inspiron 1100?

The Dell experts and my colleagues give cotroversial advises like:
"simply install", "impossible for inspiron 1100 (40 GB is a maximum allowd)",
"reprogram BIOS" etc.

The correct anwer i: a) simply install. There is no modification of the BIOS required and the 80GB will work fine.
