I was told too by technical support that there is no cd they can send me to reinstall DMX. I read here by the moderator that Dell have got it wrong when they say that. Please can anyone tell me if they have been able to receive an installation disc from dell for the software? If so, I intend on contacting dell again.
I did indeed find it on the "Tools Systems Software" CD. However, is was under the XPS model and not the XPS Gen 2 model. But it installed without any problems.
I have had the same problem, pc 4 months old , reinstall entire system, no DME to be found on any back up cd. Dell told me to look for it on the 2/2 Eurotools cd, under 'Files', 'F2531setup.exe4'. But that didn't work. You have had any succes yet?

They are incorrect. I cannot setup service to the UK. Keep trying them. Tell them you need CD part number G2874.

There is indeed a disc. The problem is that some discs are either missing entirely or missing the DMX software.
The program should be conatined on the Dell Tools system software CD p/n f6808.
Now if they can fix the chapter bug, this program may actually be worth owning.
