Followed directions and uninstalled AWCC 4.7.10 to install 4.7.9 provided. No change. Lights are still stuck at the last profile used, and AlienWareAlenFXTester reports "no board", the screen capture looks the same as above.
I have the 15 r4 and the command center on it doesn't work correctly till I restart the machine a second time.I don't have control over what the cpu and gpu are doing even the lighting isn't work correctly till the reboot. I really don't think Dell knows how to fix these issues.
I don't believe Dell knows how to fix these issues, either. My AlienFX stopped working some time ago... research led me here. No success. No support offered either because Warranty ran out last year... This'll be my last Dell system if this isn't resolved.
Yeah, my command center completely got deleted off my computer sometime ago and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Command Center and have the Command Center Suite, and there is NO AlienFX to use anymore!!

Ok so what we are going to do is uninstall the current Alienware Command Center. Follow the steps on this video for a clean install, and download and install this command center version: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04029141M/2/App_DT_AWCC4.7.9.0_W10_Setup_VRJVV_ZPE.exe
Let me know if it works!

I uninstalled AWCC 4.7.10 using the directions in How to Remove and Reinstall the Alienware Command Center, and installed the AWCC 4.7.9 from the link provided. So now
As before the lights stay on at the last profile used (UltraViolet), and the AlienwareAlienFXTester reports "no board detected".

the folks at Dell should read this Microsoft forum topic about the 1803 update problem on certain hybrid laptops
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/hybrid-laptops-with-discrete-gpu-connected-to/3518f6b4-c267-4d38-b5b9-d5ea0c16e975?tm=1525314302049&auth=1
that includes Alienware 17 R4

Same here.
Command Center will load.
However! FX icon is not there anymore.
Fuison Icon is there. Then again.
All are gray out. Can not click or do anything
