R820 idrac 2.60.60 Virtual Console Native Connection Fails

Question

Hello everyone, I'm having a particular issue with a Dell PowerEdge R820 that recently had the BIOS and Lifecycle firmware upgraded. The BIOS was updated to 2.5.0 from 2.3.4 and the Lifecycle firmware was updated from 2.21.21 to 2.60.60. The issue is after upgrading to 2.60.60 the Virtual Console for Native mode in Internet Explorer does not work. I get a popup about connection to Native Virtual Console and it hangs there indefintely. Native mode worked in 2.21.21 and I thought this may have been a fluke so I roll back the update and tested that functionality worked again on 2.21.21 without an issue. When upgrading to 2.60.60, the issue returned.  I followed the instructions to add the idrac site to to trusted sites, compatibility mode and adjusting IE settings per the idrac guide with no success. In the 2.21.21 version, I was not aware of having to make any tweaks in my browser and it just worked. Has anyone seen this behavior before and have any insight for me? Thank you.

I just tested IE 11 version 11.1387.15063.0 and was able to get the console to work.

I have the IP address added to trusted sites. I also have pop-up blocker disabled on the IP address. The setting that I changed between the two modes I tested was compatibility mode. Native mode worked with compatibility view enabled. HTML 5 worked with compatibility view disabled.

There were still user account control options I had to accept, so be sure to check for any pop-ups that may be occurring.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your reply. May I ask what version of Windows you are running? I am running Windows 10 with Internet Explorer 11.551.16299.0 and following your steps did not make a difference unfortunately.
