Perhaps the moderator can add some information on this that is definite. Dell offers a variety of video cards for this system and they are all, save one, PCIe 3.0 cards. I believe that PCIe 3.0 was introduced around November 2010, and the 8900 was introduced in 2016. With that in mind, though I have not seen anything definite on the web, the 8900 is certainly 3.0. I am curious as to which GPU card you have installed at the present?

DDRE (for Windows 10) Dell Developed Recovery Environment is a Dell developed recovery solution that replaces DBAR on factory-installed Windows 10 systems. It provides customers a way to restore the factory image to their PC. DDRE is factory-installed and cannot be installed by customers.
Beep Codes = XPS 8900 does not support Diagnostic beep codes. The power button light located at the top of the computer illuminates and blinks or remains solid to indicate different states.
If you have a discrete graphics card already in the x16 slot then you can use HWiNFO (free download) to see what the bus is capable of. Drill down into the Bus hierarchy until you find the graphics card.

The other non-graphic slots are 3.0, so it probably is, too.
