Jesse, I've got a 2001FP coming very soon with my new XPS Gen 3.  Please send the fix to me as well so I can hopefully head the problem off at the pass.

Thanks!

One more request for the fix, to AnakinOU@yahoo.com.  My new 2001fp does the exact same thing (loses image on DVI after XP loading screen).

Thanks!

is the fix only for NVidia users?

I've had the 2001fp for a week now.  Last week, it was hooked up to my old system, running a GeForce2 GTS via VGA.

This week, I've built a new box, using a NForce2 mobo and an ATI 9800 Pro....and DVI blanks out after the XP loading screen.  VGA still works, though.  DVI will work in safe mode.

I just recieved my 2001fp , and noticed after the monitor goes into power saving mode, the screen will not come back on , it will remain black...Can this be the same problem ?

I end up having to reboot to remedy this issue...

It seems to happen only when the computer is in 1600x1200 mode, as in 1280x1024 works fine and the monitor comes back to the desktop after being in power saving mode.

Running this monitor in a 1280x1024 mode is not an option.

But when the mode is 1600x1200 it is black and can't recover without a reboot. I run a ATI 9800 Pro 128 video card, so I am positive it cant be the video card.

Please mail the fix to rak467@yahoo.com if there is an avilable fix.

the "fix" did nothing for me.  Did not change my situation at all.

Don't expect miracles.  Has the "fix" worked at all for anyone with the "DVI going into power conservation mode at Windows login screen when using a Radeon" issue?

I tried the fix last night, it didn't work.  I tried a new DVI cable, it didn't work.  I tried formatting the hard drive, starting from scratch, it didn't work.  No matter what I do, as soon as I install video card drivers (beyond standard windows default VGA drivers), I lose DVI functionality immediately after the Windows XP loading screen.  I can understand it may be a driver issue...but I'm really sick of the "Dell says it's ATI's problem, ATI says it's Dell's problem, and the consumers get no solution" thing.

I'm running a Shuttle AN35N Ultra mobo, Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro video card, if it matters to anyone.

Please send the fix to me too.  Silly, why don't you post the file on the dell download support pages?

chapter,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

I emailed you the dvi recovery.zip file. Please check your email. I am hoping that they wil soon post it on the website. There is an FAQ located at the top of the monitor board that they want people to try in resolving the issue.

Same problem.

I have "prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" on. So if i leave the machine for a while, and I return to the computer and the monitor is on standby, it will be locked.

Normally, a wiggle of the mouse, the montior comes back on, and BAM the logon screen. But with the 2001fp, sometimes it takes 30 seconds - 1 minute to come back on. Other times, it just doesn't.

Same thing happens if I lock the machine manually (with WINDOWSKEY-L)and return to it later with the monitor in power saving mode.

THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING, need the fix fad3r@yahoo.com
