One of the ways to make successful posts is to spell properly. It makes it a lot easier to read. Wut ur sayin kin be hard 2 reed win its all speled rong.
Sounds like your machine is faulty from the factory, as it shouldn't be doing that out of the box. Send it back within your 21 days.
There probably are others with the same problem. But I bet you they sent the notebook back for a full refund instead of trying to fix something that shouldn't be broken.
If Dell says that they try exchanging parts like the mainboard/GPU/Memory etc... on a brand new notebook, most users request a whole replacement unit or send it back to get the money back and order a new one. If it is really a hardware problem and Dell replaces one part after the other, you will probably never have a working computer.
I had the same problem with call of duty and other games--You probably have an ATI card--download these 3rd party drivers--been using them for over a week and no problems
http://www.omegadrivers.net/ . ATi does not support there mobility drivers and have had problems with call of duty specifically but the omega drivers should fix that problem.
sorry i checked the link but i do not kno wot to download, anythin specific i need? I am useless when it comes to this kind of stuff so treat me like a dumb person. :p
I called dell, had to wait 15 mins on hold. when they finally put me through, the person said go get your laptop which was upstairs and by the time i came back with the laptop, he had put the phone down, so i had to call them again and wait another 15 minutes for them just to say "I'm afraid we cannot help you because they (modem and the game) are third party products". To check whether it is only call of duty i went and bought the most graphically challnging game, far cry (to my knowledge anyway) and that works perfectly, have not had any problems with it so far.
The modem thing has not happened yet either so i am hoping that it's fixed but I am going to call telewest anyway to see if there is a solution.
I will try that link and get back to you.
sorry for any grammar mistakes again but just got used to doing it in other less important forums.
Click ATI Radeon Link at top of page then click your os from the top of page--kinda hard to find but right under the link to ati page you just clicked. Then choose one of the mirrors.
If you are not running Windows XP and still can't find which drivers are right post what os you are running--but with a new dell you should be on xp and have ati mobility card so the link above should help. You may get warnings from microsoft about installing 3rd party drivers--I did install anyway and have had no problems. Also make sure you goto add remove programs and remove ATI control panel before you install new driver--you don't need to uninstall old driver but you do need to uninstall ATI old control panel if its there.
Yeah i went on ATI Radeon then Win 2k/xp and down;oaded and installed the omega drive. Nothin really changed, i went to settings and the direct 3d and Open lg were same as before, one of the changes were that i can make the screen resolution bigger than my laptop is supposed to be. I have 1280 x 800 but now i can make it up to 1920 x 1200. I have not yet made it bigger than 1280 x 800 becuase i am scared it will go weird and muck up the system. As far as the game goes, after i downloaded the download, i havent had any problems with it.
wot wud happen if i increase the screen resolution even tho when i bought the system i chose 1280 x 800?
I have my res at 1680x1050 and have not blown up yet, but have not gone higher nor really want to--this works fine for me. None of the Open GL and Direct 3d settings should change as long as you are able to play the game without locking-up the new drivers are working.
yeah ive been playin the game and nothhing has happend so far, nothing happens in farcry either so thanks i guess its worked. im scared to change the settings but i might as well try before my 21 days run out :p
the internet thing has stopped as well, i think it's only happened once in the last week and few days and i am not sure whether that was the modem or just something else.

IF you have ati mobility card and windows xp try this link http://www.newgenerationorder.org/rad_w2kxp_omega_2558_7z.exe
