Reconfigure CX600

Hi people,

I'm completely new to EMC and to the clariion CX600 Storage.

I received this storage system without any documentation, so it took me some time to get the cabling right.
The system now boots properly and i managed to login after a password restore.

What i would like to do, is change the whole LUN/Raid setup.
I know that the first 5 disks are used for the OS and flare (right?)

Can i delete all LUN's en RAID groups to start over again, without losing Navisphere(OS) or flare?

thanks in advance!

Here's the current disk (4 arrays) setup:

you don't see flare portion of the system so you can safely delete LUNs/Raid groups (i assume nothing is attached to the system)

Well, there´s no option in navisphere to touch the reserved space on the first 5 disks, right??

Unfortunately I can't post in the clariion category.

I only got a Powerlink Lite View account.. i guess there's no support contract for this product anymore..

Setting up the storage system is a goal of my internship over here..

good luck, CX is an easy platform to manage. Post back if you have questions.

Why Not ?

Do you have a real Powerlink account?

yes - as long as you don't touch the reserved areas on the first five disks

I would suggest to ask in the Clariion category of the EMC support network (Powerlink auth required)

Got one more question...

Want to connect this CX-600 storage to some hosts running 2k8 R2.
Now i found the following site, which says i need flare code 26:

http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/item.aspx?idItem=32f75813-6655-abc2-8967-b82f2a963d14&bCatID=1511

I'm running flare code 11. What to do?!

For information on whats supported with EMC products I would suggest to use the official EMC Support Matrix – either through ELab Navigator on Powerlink or through emc.com and not google

PLEASE use the EMC SUPPORT forums Clariion category https://community.emc.com/community/support/clariion?view=discussions&start=0

that's really old, optimally you would want to be at least on flare 19. I assume this is a lab setup and not production.  Most likely win2k8 will work just fine with flare 11.
