Can an Aztech MDP3880-W(B) Europe modem be used in the U.S.

Question

I bought a Dell Precision 220 workstation off of eBay with absolutely no software - including no operating system. After installing Windows 98 I needed to activate the modem, but after searching on Dell's support website, I realized the modem (Aztech MDP3880-M(B)) that came with the computer was made for Europe. Can I still use this modem even though I live in the United States? If I can, which driver do I download? I have downloaded multiple drivers for the 3880-W(U) --US modem, and the 3880-W(B) Europe modem. After going through the 'Ad Hardware' steps, the system could not find or detect the downloaded driver for either driver. I even tried to download a V-90 one that didn't work. Am I not unzipping them correctly, why can't it locate the driver off of the diskette?

I have the Aztech MDP3880-W(B) here and it came with the Optiplex GX110 that I bought in Canada. I am still using it in another system running Windows XP this time and it works perfectly, it was recognized as Dell Fax/Modem.
