I have a D600. The machine seems to operate fine. It is just about a month old. However I do have a particular problem with the power features. If I have both the standard battery and the module battery in I can expect a decent life time from both batteries. The problem comes though when one of the batteries meets the 3% charge value. It then seems to think that the laptop is about to run out of charge completely and so it follows the instruction of the power settings in the control panel and goes into suspend. The other battery at this point is full. The combined life is much higher than 3% more like 40%. This means I have an unscheduled suspend that can be a real pain. Worse than that I will resume (resume is fine in fairness) but then very soon after it will panic as the battery charge will be 3% or less, into suspend we go. Until finally it runs out of charge, the other battery takes over and all is well. Does anyone else suffer with this problem? I will be monitoring it closely over the coming weeks and if it continues to happen then I will raise it with Tech support and post the results. Thanks for reading Gareth

Where did you find BIOS v15.
I tried to update the BIOS to version 12. The release notes say that it solves that problem but it is not the case for me.
The problem is still there.

DELL support, have you tested the BIOS v12 against this problem?

Updated to BIOS v15, seems to have solved the problem (running 2 batteries).

BIOS v15 may be for the D600.

A_12 is the latest BIOS for the D800, released in early February and it did solve the first issue for me.

1. Fixed an intermittent situation where the system may not resume from suspend.

I only use one battery, so don't know about that.

Use great caution with BIOS Flashes!!!

found BIOS A15 (not v 15) by entering my service tag on the support site and going to downloads and selecting FLASH BIOS.

Yes, Dell had offered a lot of BIOS Flashes for a lot of Different models last month, including most of the latest (like D610).

Just carefully follow all instructions, a BIOS Flash gone wrong can mean a trip to Dell for your box, note that warranty won't cover that unless Tech Support had you do it.
