Problems with Actiontec Modem in my 8200

About six montsh ago my modem basically stopped working.  I started getting frequent blue screens, forcing me to restart my computer.  After upgrading / downloading the latest drivers from Dell, I still had no luck.  From time to time however, the modem would connect for a brief period of time leading me to believe that the modem itself was not broken and that it was a software / driver issue.  For the most part I use a network connection so this has not cause too much of a problem but I intend to start using a dial up service more regularly.  My Inspiron has an Actiontec MD560RD modem and for some reason when I uninstall the modem to reinstall it with new drivers it will sometimes install itself as an AC97 SoftV92 Data Fax Modem (Manufacture CXT) if connected to a network.  I have tried several solutions, even reseating the modem, checking the condition of the phone lines and jack input, and trying to connect at different locations.  Here is a summary of my troubleshooting efforts and results. Blue Screen - HSFHWICH.SYM w/ R50357 and R50360 Blue Screen - ICH.SYS w/ R47008 and R38891 Modem dials then disconnects upon initial run after install (with AC97?) then - Error 680 No Dial Tone on next attempt to reconnect w/ running Microsoft Driver Update through Device Manager Please help. At this point, with all that driver load history, boot to Windows Safe Mode (F8 as Windows is just starting) and go to the Device Manager and delete all modem entries after uninstalling the drivers.  Then reboot and cancel out of the found new hardware (if you can) and load the R50360 driver - it is the one you really want to use.
