there is the problem, to disable the bluetooth, check the 'Safeley Remove HardWare' in the control panel to see if the bluetooth device is there, but the only other way to disable it and use WIFI would be disable it in System Properties and disable the device.

IT is activated on the BIOS, I am using the R65891 Bluetooth exe from the support site.

Thanks for your help.

check your bios and see of the Wireless On/Off states FN F2 + Application.  This should work, what bluetooth driver version?

You can enable bluetooth and wireless seperatly by enabling this in the bios, set the wireless to FN f2 + application

Now you press F2 in windows to enable both wirelesses and disable which ever one you want by using their seperate utilities.  For bluetooth right hand click on the bluetooth icon in the start bar and click disable bluetooth radio.  does dell provide a utility for the truemobile wireless device or is it just drivers?

This does not work at my end. Bluetooth always asks me to activate with FN+F2. It seems to me that the "TrueMobile 300" is a mix of driver and may be hardware.I cannot activate Bluetooth through its application.

I am puzzled.

Right, this is not an option at the moment at the machine is in constant use. I will disable all devices from Bios and use a good PCMCIA WiFi card instead for the time being.

Many thanks for your help.

Yes, I have. Intermittently though. I get the Red coloured antenna in the system tray. From time to time is switches to white and establishes a connection for a little while, then disconnects (back to red).

I cannot manually reconnect as it asks for FN=F2, which switches off the WiFi instead of switching ON Bluetooth.

Thanks a lot for your help, it is driving me insane.

this sounds more like a problem with the Truemobile 300 bluetooth card than anything else, have you contacted dell support for a replacement?

I am not sure I understand. Are we saying that I cannot use WiFi (TrueMobile 1300 - internal) and Bluetooth (TrueMobile 300 - internal) at the same time on the Dell D600 as a matter of fact?

I would like to be able to do so but cannot. WiFi works fine but Bluetooth not.

Thanks

It is installed but remains RED. No, switched to white for 2 sec, back to RED.

Odd?
