Inspiron 5675, RAM upgrade

Hello, im new to PC building/upgrading so just wanted to check if the RAM that i want will be compatible. I have a Inspiron 5675. I only have 2 RAM slots so i want to remove the current RAM and add 2 new 8GB sticks instead. The RAM that i want is currently on sale here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2A2400C16R-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1548267299&sr=8-4&keywords=corsair%2B16gb%2Bddr4%2Bram&th=1 So my questions are: Will this RAM be compatible with my motherboard/PC? It looks like they are different voltages to my current RAM so will it auto adjust and work or does it only support 1.2V? Let me know if u need any more info and thank you in advance!

It will probably run at 2400. Of course there is a possibility that the system would not boot at all. But if you have not purchased the RAM yet then there is high quality RAM at a lower price due to the lower speed. There really is not a reason to go 3000 if it will clock down to 2400. And assuming you are not overclocking the CPU  then 3000 becomes less of a point since the 5675 does not support XMP. And the following posts have more information. 3000 will most certainly clock down which makes installing 3000 RAM a moot point.

That RAM is not compatible. The specs for the 5675 are DDR4 2400. Crucial does sell and guarantees as compatible DDR4 2666 as well. So something more like the following. It should work although Only Crucial and Kingston guarantee 100% compatibility.

thanks for the reply, so the motherboard can only support speeds up to 2666 so 3000 wont work?

if i get 3000MHz instead of 2400Mhz will it not work at all or just lower the speed to 2400?

You should look for RAM that doesn't have heatspreaders, or at the very least make sure they are not thick ones. I couldn't install a kit of G.Skill TridentZ in my board, the slots were too close together.

Also make sure that the sticks you get have DDR4-2400 as part of their non-XMP SPD profile, otherwise they'll run at 2133MHz as per the JEDEC standard.
