Predictive Failure reported

Hello, we have a Dell PowerEdge R910 running RHEL 5.

The omreport output below seems to indicate we have a looming disk failure.

I'm not real familiar with RHEL running on Dell hardware.

Could someone please provide some details on how to address/troubleshoot this from the RHEL command line.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

The output you shared would definitely suggest that disk 1 has failed. Based on what you're showing, I would go ahead and replace drive 1, there's really not a lot more to do. If you were inclined to run further checks, the drive LED will blink amber or alternate green/amber to indicate either a failure, or a predictive failure. The control + R PERC utility would also show the state.

To resolve it, you should be able to pull the drive, and swap it with a new one. The controller should handle the rest. You can check the state in command line, OpenManage, or the PERC utility. If you want to check it by command line, I think the command is "omreport storage arrays." You can use the manual below to help with it.
