* The battery carries a 1 year warranty from February 25, 2018 to February 25, 2019. Batteries are a consumable item. All batteries degrade with time and use. The warranty is very similar to common auto warranties which exclude consumable items such as tires Checking Battery Health Status on Dell Systems
* Disconnect the AC power adapter from the Inspiron 15-5570 * Remove the battery from the Inspiron 15-5570 * Reconnect the AC power adapter to the Inspiron 15-5570 * Press the power button. What happens?
I have an inspiron 5570 with a built-in battery and I wanted to know if I used the laptop while it's plugged in the charger when it's fully charged will this damage the battery or decrease the battery life ?
I find a problem with my laptop as my old one the battery was removable so most of the time I removed the battery and used the laptop using electricity only

@DELL-Chris M
Since most newer laptops have internal batteries, are they still considered "Consumable"
Even if the user needs to tear down the laptop to access the battery???
Risking damage and or voiding the warranty???
Or is it just a ploy laptop manufactures are using just for profit???
It is definitely not something to benefit the consumer!!!

Welcome to the Dell Community @MimiOmar
If you have a DC jack with a center pin like this then you have a SMART power system.
The AC and your system use the center pin to communicate.
They communicate to regulate the charge/discharge of your battery.
When your battery is fully charged the system tells the AC to stop producing extra current and stops charging the battery.
Best regards,
