Dell XPS 13 Ram Issues

My Dell XPS 13 9370 won't turn on, flashes 4 white then 2 amber. Looks like this means I have ram issues. I've read some people have been able to just clean their existing Ram to solve similar problems, would this be an option for me or should I just replace the ram now? Either way, what do I need to unscrew and open the laptop?

Thanks,

Andrew

Looking at the cost of motherboards here, around $230-450 (and they are refurbished not new), plus the labour to install the part you could easily be around double that by the time the unit is repaired. I am assuming that you are out of warranty? It's unfortunate since the laptop does not appear to be that old. If you do go to a new unit, and it's looking like that may be the way to go, make sure you research the product a bit. For instance be sure that the RAM can be removed, upgraded, replaced, etc.

That light sequence does indicate a RAM problem. Unfortunately the RAM in that system is non removable. So if it is indeed a RAM problem it would mean replacing the motherboard. Look at this link for more information.

Ive had other issues with this one in the past, sounds like a big investment for a laptop that may not last a ton longer. So looks like it might make more sense to get a new laptop?
