P4317Q, where to find stand screws?

I have a 43" Dell monitor, model P4317Q. After a recent house move all the screws have disappeared. There are about four screws to attach the back plate. But I also need another bigger screw which screws up from the stand plate into the upright part of the stand. This monitor is HEAVY. I will need that stand screw and the back plate screws. I have found the user manual on this site and downloaded it. It does not gives the specifications of the screws involved. I can't get through to a human being at Dell to find out where if anywhere it is possible to find the specifications of these screws.

Anyone got any ideas?

Found it! Finally!

The stand screw is an M8 20 mm screw. I don't know whether you can have different heads with this spec of screw, but you ideally want a fairly flat head: otherwise the stand won't sit flat on the surface it's on.

NB as mentioned in another thread, the screws for attaching the backplate to the monitor are 4 x M6 12 mm screws.

Dell does not have the stand screw as a part that can be shipped. I did find this picture which has size data =

Firstly, there has been some doubt expressed about these suggested screws to attach the plate to the monitor.

Secondly, as I say clearly in my original question, another, larger screw, just a single one, is also needed to attach the base piece to the upright.

Regarding the various service tags, etc.:

S/N: CN-OV7M4J-64180-68C-064L-A02

BUT... when I finally managed to get through to the right team at Dell on the phone a year ago, they told me that they could tell me NOTHING about this monitor, due to the fact that I bought it from a Dell reseller. Despite the fact that this is an OFFICIAL Dell reseller, ITC Sales UK https://www.itcsales.co.uk/

Moved your latest reply back to your thread.

I showed the four backplate screws measurements above taken from the online P4317Q Outline Dimension PDF. I also stated that Dell does not have the bigger screw part number.

All they can "tell" you is what is shown in the P4317Q online documents.

Hi Chris-M,

For some unaccountable reason I can't reply to your post at the end of this P2715Q thread.
unlocked. Dell-Chris M>

Thanks for your help so far. I'm not clear: are you a Dell "insider" or just knowledgeable?

So it seems from the thread started yesterday by Dummy Bear that the four backplate screws are indeed M6 x 12mm (?). I can find those.

For the other screw (attaching base plate to upright bracket), is there really no way that Dell can look this up in some sort of manufacturing spec file? Or is Dell refusing to do that because I bought this through an (official) reseller?

* There is no need to reply to that old P2715Q thread. Your thread here is unlocked.

* I have worked for Dell since 1997.

So it seems from the thread started yesterday by Dummy Bear that the four backplate screws are indeed M6 x 12mm.
* Correct for the outer black screws.

* I gave you what I could find in an earlier reply which was just a schematic of the screw, but no size number.

Or is Dell refusing to do that because I bought this through an (official) reseller?
* Nope, has nothing to do with warranty. Neither the manufacturer nor Dell ever thought that a user would remove the stand screw. The only user case scenario we envisioned would be that the user would simply disconnect the "still together" stand base + stand riser from the back panel as shown in the online User's Guide.

"Neither the manufacturer nor Dell ever thought that a user would remove the stand screw"

Hahaha. OK. I have no idea why I did so. Probably in the hope that it would be safer in a little bag than "loose" in the stand during my house move.

Well, thank you for your help anyway. My next (final) resort is this incredible specialist screw shop in central London I know of. I shall take the base unit there (assuming they are not locked down) and see what they can do!
