@RH_Dell  - You didn't answer any of the questions I already asked on the previous page of this thread:

  • Is the 240W PSU in the 3650 big enough for that add-in card? Never mind that it works in your XPS.
  • Does that card require a direct power connection to the PSU and is it connected?
  • Did you clear BIOS after installing that video card?
  • Did you check the monitor's OSD to make sure it's set to use its DVI video port with that card?
  • There are different "versions" of DVI. What version does that video card have and does the monitor support that version? For example, there's DVI-D, either single or dual link, DVI-I, either single or dual link, etc. And did you use the correct DVI cable for the supported DVI version? Just because they both have DVI ports doesn't mean the card and monitor support the same DVI version.
  • Did you clear BIOS after removing that card and reverting to onboard video?

  1. Power off and unplug, press/hold power button for 15 sec
  2. Remove motherboard battery and press/hold power button for ~30 sec
  3. Remove all RAM modules
  4. Reinstall battery
  5. Close up and connect mouse, monitor to onboard video (no add-in video card installed) and keyboard
  6. Boot

You should get 2 (or 4 beeps) from the tower. If no beeps, assume a motherboard (or CPU) failure...

Sadly no change even doing that. I give up, I'm going to buy another one from the outlet.

Thanks everyone for their help, I've read I'm not the only person who has suffered similar, but their problem also I see remained un-solved.

By the way, can you put DDR3 RAM into DDR4 (i.e. take RAM from this and insert to new one?)

So no beeps when RAM completely removed... Sure sounds like the motherboard.

Have you considered contacting Dell Out-Of-Warranty-Repair to get an estimate of how much it might cost to fix this PC?

And if it's less than one year after the Dell warranty expired, contact your credit card company ASAP to see if they offer a free warranty extension program. Some cards will cover purchases for up to one additional year after the OEM's warranty expires.

You'll probably have to show them when the Dell warranty expired (it will be on the Warranty page for your Service Tag) and that you purchased the PC on their card. After you pay that card's monthly bill with the repair charge on it, they'll credit the amount back to your account, up to whatever limits they may have. Been there, done that for one of my high tech gadgets and I was a very happy camper...

As for your RAM question, short answer: No

You can't use DDR3 RAM in a PC designed for DDR4 RAM.

Bonjour,

I replaced the lithium battery cr2032 3v that is right above the video card.
Now, a new Energizer 2032 battery cr2032 lithium 3v is placed and my computer finally came out of a coma.

If it works for me, it may work for you and if it does, spread the word !

Bon courage,

Cyril Boucard

Hello. I have the same exact system giving the same exact issue, HDD/Fans spinning, white LED, but no video. I tested everything you guys talked about, clear CMOS, no video card - I get nothing with the stock GT 730 but with the onboard video I get a "no signal" message from my monitor. I also disconnected the hard drive - no post beeps. No ram - the power LED turns orange and blinks, otherwise no beeps. I am at the end of the road in terms of troubleshooting. Also, when I plug in any USB devices I get nothing out of them.

@finalkg  -

Did you physically remove the GT 730 video card from the PC? The onboard graphics ports are disabled when an add-in video card is installed (working or not) so "no signal" from onboard graphics port.

Are you using the same type onboard graphics port that you used with the add-in video card? If it's a different type onboard port, you may have to open the monitor's own on-screen display (OSD) and make sure it's configured to use the type port you're using with onboard graphics.

Did you count the blinks after you removed all the RAM and attempted to boot? That's an error code.

BTW: Are you sure the monitor works? Can you test it on different PC or a different monitor on this PC (making sure it's configured for the ports being use)?

Got the same issue out of the blue. This 3650 is used in my music studio. Have been using for about 4 years at least. Has had two 8 gig memory cards since day one. Using on board graphics. Go into the studio try to wake up and nothing to the screen. Everything just as this thread has detailed has been tried as far as trouble shooting. Different monitor, different cable, installed a graphics card, new CMOS battery. I finally got it to boot if I did not have the memory card in slot 2 installed.  Even tried new memory card and same.

So I bought a new mother board AND THE SAME. Pulling my hair out. The only thing left is the power supply but I have solid white lights on it.

Any ideas?

@Stinger22 - What color is power button and steady or blinking when it won't boot with RAM in slot 2? (Count blinks where are an error code.)

When it boots with only one module, reboot and tap F12 to open the menu. Select Diagnostics and run all of them. Copy error message(s), if any.

Have you tried each RAM module in 2nd slot from CPU, when the other module is in first slot, and when there's nothing in first slot?

Did you clear BIOS after removing motherboard battery by pressing/holding power button for ~30 sec (PC unplugged)? Then configure RAM the way you want, reinstall the battery and see if it boots.

FWIW, Dell PCs can be very fussy about RAM, so the replacement module may not be compatible with the OEM modules or the motherboard.

Do you know the new motherboard is good? Did you put a fresh battery in it?

Did you run the BIST on the PSU?

You've made so many changes, it's hard to know what's going on. You may want go back to your original config, remove the add-in GPU, and the new RAM module too.
