Josh,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

I posted a solution to this in the Network FAQ.  I believe it is #18.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, the link you gave in the Network FAQ is not valid anymore / the document has been moved. I face the same problem as Josh - could you be so kind and uptdate the link?

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi viper11885,

No, unfortunatly I still can't connect. I guess it must be a problem with the offered 104bit encryption, instead of the 128 of the Router. How can i change the xp in a way, that i am able to define a 128 bit encryption?

Remark 1: i do have as well a u.s. robotics wireless card. if i install this card into my laptop, i am able to establish my wireless net!

Remark 2: if i enter in the TrueMobile settings the WEP information, each time i enter the settings, i have to enter the information again - why does this happen???

Thanxxxs, Daniel

What's going on? Are you having any problems with it?

To input 128bit encryption, go to your wireless network settings and select the network so that you can edit the settings for it. In there, there is a secion in the middle of the window which you can enter in your WEP information. Copy the information that is generated from your router into these settings. After that, hit OK and you may need to do a restart. It should work after that without any problems.

I am using a Inspiron 8500 with TM1300 driver ver. 3.20.23.0 and WPA-PSK AES with 128 bit encryption even as we speak. After you set your wireless Access Point for 128 bit encryption you MUST use a 13 character ASCII or 26 character HEX Pre-Shared Key in both your Access Point and the TM1300 connection. 8 bits ASCII times 13 = 104 bit key. Also 4 bits HEX times 26 = 104 bit key. I hope this helps.
