Did the system arrive with a "pen compatible" sticker on it?

Hi Korilassical,

Thanks for posting.  Apologies that the Active pen is not working as expected.

Here is information from the Dell Knowledge base you may find helpful:

It is very hard to pull out info for such things as pressure levels.  You also probably need to match the PEN to the Panel on that system.

The link below is for the newest PEN.  I am not recommending it but some of the info on the link may help you make decisions.  It goes into where "tilt" will work with some panels and not others.  That your system has a Linking Mode of MPP instead of the AES the XPS systems may have.

If you had a chance to test on an XPS system, such as the XPS 13 9365 or maybe the SPS 15 9575, you would probably see some differences.  In addition, I went to the Wacom site to compare some of their PENS to compare the capabilities.  Dell only supplies one type of NIB (tip) with their systems where other OEMs might have a kit of four to use for drawing.

I suppose the bottom line is cost.  The more capabilities a system has the more it will cost.

Get Lazy Nezumi. It has a pressure curve adjustment baked into the software that is applicable to photoshop and other windows software. Also Clip Studio Paint has a pressure curve adjustment baked in itself that you can adjust. For some reason laptops using the Microsoft pen protocol doesn't have pressure adjustment software in windows unless you're using something off the Surface line of computers. Otherwise the pressure by default is set to blowout. It's a bummer because I had to figure it out myself.

Hi Korilassical,

is your problem solved?

I have also bought Inspiron 15 7000 (7573) FHD display 2 in 1.

I am thinking to buy wacom smart pen for drawing purpose.

Dude, the struggle is real - I'm using an old version of illustrator, CS5.  For which I paid a bundle of money to own a perpetual license, and I absolutely refuse to get roped into the monthly plan options when I already have all the tools I plan to use and I paid good money for them.  I bought this computer as an upgrade so I didn't have to tangle myself in wires with a monitor and run them throughout the house or be tethered to a desk.  I know my drawing monitor works in illustrator with pressure sensitivity, it's the huion 22, and hats off to that, performs great.  I know what I'm doing, I did put together the brushes, but I can't get diddly squat out of this pen, and to be honest it's not just this pen.  I took the laptop out to bestbuy thinking if I cruised the wacom pens I'd get different results.  No go.  something about the format of the these things are not jiving, and as of yet I haven't figured it out, but I get pressure sensitivity out of some of the newer apps, so maybe there's something to that.
