I try to connect my headset (with microphone) to the universal audio jack not work in OptiPlex 3080 SFF, however, the microphone cannot be detected

Beyond that you need CTIA splitter for old school headset.

I once struggled with such an issue for up to 4 months only to learn that the headset in question was 3 pin while the jack for optiplex 7080 expected 4 pin. When you have 4 pin headset Max audio pro is all that you need then insert the headset to the universal audio jack while selecting that you have inserted an headset.
