Dell latitude e5550 not powering on, motherboard
Hi my dell e5550 was not powering on, and tech support people said the motherboard needs replacement. But out of stock.
However I'm doubting the processor might be the culprit here. But i can't goto service center due to covid restrictions.
Can someone tell me
1. where i can get another motherboard, possibly home delivered.
2. Is the i"5 5200U" processor removable? As suspect some contacts issue might be there.
Kindly help me I'm stuck here.

1. Try parts-people.com if you're in the US.
2. No, it's soldered to the board.

I'm sure you tried a different power supply right? The not powering on is often a result of a completely depleted battery. Another possibility is that the charging port that plugs into the motherboard, and the power supply plugs into it is broken.
Both have happened to me on Dell laptops over the years.
Why did someone suggest it was the motherboard?
If you are handy and cautious, you can replace your motherboard (providing it's not the previous two things I've mentioned), getting one from the source the prior poster provided, or from ebay. My one suggestion if you go this route, put a bar magnet on your screwdriver so that screw removal and re-insertion is made a lot easier.

The service center guy completely took apart the motherboard then hooked it to a usb keyboard and external display. Then he told me motherboard needs replacement. But I think you might be correct as this laptop had also developed charging issues earlier.
Will try to check with a compatible battery and cmos battery disconnection/auto healing
