iDRAC9 | Host OS with wrong information

Dear Guys,

I just installed my new R740 server and installed Dell Service Module iSM to my ESXi 7 host but when I'm trying to register it through iDRAC9 via support assist, always facing a problem for connections. So, I went to System>Host OS then I found vmk0 took wrong gateway and can't be modified from the iDRAC. I checked my ESXi vmk0 IP settings and found everything is correct. So, Now the SupportAssist via iSM not working properly. note that I did iDRAC reset and also tried to reinstall the iSM.

ESXi IP Settings:

10.10.100.203

255.255.255.0

10.10.100.1

Your kind help is highly appreciated ...

Thanks

Hello,

I probably would start checking if the iDRAC and BIOS firmware is up to date. After the iSM has been installed, was the host rebooted?

Have you tried resetting the iDRAC to check if it helps the issue.

Thanks @DELL-Joey C for your reply. Please note that I am using the latest BIOS and iDRAC version. Also, I did iDRAC reset with the same issue.

Thanks

Hi,

If you're comfortable with resetting iDRAC, could you try using RACADM and execute the command racadm racresetcfg -f to try full reset of the iDRAC, it may help the issue.

Reference: https://dell.to/3yOb4pA.

Would you be able to collect support assist log locally and save the file. Then upload the file to https://dell.to/3fTS2Wa. Once it's done, let me know via private message the service tag of the server.

Meanwhile, could you also check all the ports are open in the firewall for iDRAC communication to external, it also might cause the issue of network connection fail while you test the connection in SupportAssist. Ref: https://dell.to/3yKLpOu

Hi,

Have you uploaded the Support Assist logs as mentioned in my previous reply? Do upload it if you have not done it, and let me know the service tag via private message.

Mean while, can you try this method. Uninstall iSM and reboot the server. Then install one lower version of iSM, 3.5.1: https://dell.to/3zi0pDK. Then reboot the server again to check if the issue persist.
