Yes I tried it very first. But MaxxAudio Pro only supports for Realtek Codec. On Cirrus Logic it won't work.
Thanks anyway. I think this some sort of driver configuration issue on Windows based drivers because some headsets work and others not specifically smartphone headsets. On the other hand every headset work on the same Inspiron 3501 that runs Ubuntu.
External interface - Cirrus CS8409 (CS42L42 + TISN005825) - Headset jack NOTE: 3.5mm headset jack functionality varies by model configuration. For best results, use Dell recommended audio accessories
Same problem here on Dell Vostro 15 3000. Headset not detecting when plugged in. Sound comes from speakers. But when I plug-in headset while pressing the "mic button" it's detected, but as headphones. So, I can hear the sound but headset microphone does not work. It shows as "not plugged in".
All drivers are update to date.
I'm using Windows 11 and Cirrus Logic Superior High Definition Audio driver version 6.6001.4.7
uninstall the cirrus audio driver from device manager which can be found in the control panel, then download the driver and install it again and it will be fixed. I use the same laptop and had the same problem and one of my friend helped me to fix it. hope it helps you all.
Thank you! We’re glad the issue is resolved. We’ll now close this case. In the future, if you need any assistance, please feel free to reach out to us here anytime.

Actually it's too early to call, because I do agree with Yahir Arias. As he mentioned above some headsets still not fully detected. After updating to the Cirrus-Logic-High-Definition-Audio Driver_TKHM4_WIN64_6.6001.4.12_A02 version, I checked again with both of my headsets. Currently I own Sony Xperia and Huawei headsets, Huawei headset works as expected on new driver but Sony headset only detected as headphone. On Sony headset, mic still not detects when plugged, but before the new driver both headsets didn't detect at all unless if I plugged while holding the headset button.
I think the issue is partially fix. But I appreciate the work they done so far to fix this. I'll find some headsets that I used to check this earlier and test them with the new driver. I'll post an update as soon as I can.
I have the same issue with several computers we bought for a client. Its crazy how Dell downgraded their computers by taking off the chance to use a simple headset.
I already updated the drivers but I'm still getting the issue with different headsets from different brands. The only solution I found is to BUY an usb audio card to just don't use the Cirrus one.

One other thought, have you tried uninstalling MaxxAudio Pro (restart the PC - do not skip this step) and then see if the jack works?

@Drevakatherine Your link has been deleted as SPAM. Nothing about a fix for this problem, only a web site about Potty Training.

Hi all.
The cirrus logic driver was recently updated on the Dell portal, it has been fixed in some headphones, they could try. Tested on Razer headphones
I hope this helps you.

With the new driver Cirrus-Logic-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_TKHM4_WIN64_6.6001.4.12_A02, downloaded from dell with SupportAssist, it is working now.
