Thanks for the model number. According to the specs you can go to a 512GB SSD. But Dell specs are conservative as any larger SSD was not tested in the 5584. Crucial for example states that anything up to and including 2 TB is compatible so yes you can go much larger.
Assuming you have something newer than the old 5000, can you post the exact model number of your system? In general you can easily update the SSD to a larger unit but the exact model number is needed.
