Area-51 R5, EVGA 3080 Ti FTW upgrade questions
Hi all,
I recently purchased an EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 to upgrade my 2080 Ti that was in my Area 51 R5. My main question pertains to the power cabling from the 1500W PSU. Of course the 3080 Ti requires 3 separate power connections that are not supposed to be daisy chained. But all of the R1 - R6 cables that came with my R5 are the splitter/daisy chain type. I currently have VGA1, VGA2, & VGA3 plugged into the card, but I'm not sure if this is correct or if the card is getting enough power. I'm noticing some stuttering during gameplay and the card really isn't performing better than my 2080 Ti did. I'm assuming I'll be unable to simply replace the cables on R1 - R3 with straight 6 to 8 pin PCIe cables. Is there a specific way I should connect the 3080 Ti to my existing cables or is it possible I need to replace the entire power supply?
I found this PCI-Express graphics card installation matrix, but it doesn't specify how to connect a single graphic card with 3 cables. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the 3080 Ti required 3 x 6+2 PIN PCI connectors. My CPU is Intel Core i9-9980XE. I ran an in-game benchmark and it's showing the CPU is hovering around 40% while the GPU is almost maxing out. I'm playing on a 3840 x 1600 ultrawide monitor that my 2080 Ti handled well. Are you aware if it matters which 6+2 PIN connectors from the PSU need to be plugged in?

I am not familiar with the cables, but basically you would need 2 x 6+2 PIN PCIe connectors for the 3080 Ti.
If it is not performing as well as you thought, that could likely be an issue with either the CPU being to slow for that GPU, or your resolution is to high for it, 4K, 2K can make a big difference.

black 6pin ports labeled R1 R2 | R3 R4 | R5 R6, where each port pair gets a cable pair + unique DP/N (but they're all made identical).
R1-R2 TMR06
R3-R4 HPDD5
R5-R6 JPV3Y
plug three 6+2 cables into your 3080ti, each from a different port pair.

I thought it was 2, but I guess Evga decided 3 is better.
