We recommend that you use your old laptop for parts. There is no guarantee that the problem will be fixed with MO replacement. Transfer your files to a newer laptop.

eBay has some great deals on new or some used models. Check them out! Having a newer unit may be a better idea. Your choice.

I believe the chassis are the same for the the two computers, but here is someone you might call to find out from, and order the parts.

The 5150 and 5100 are physically the same chassis, but trying to use the 5150 MB in the 5100 probably wouldnt be worth the troubles it may cause. Two things that come to mind, there may be CPU compatibility issues and the 5150 uses a different ac adapter.
