Steve, you need to reinstall your video card or graphics driver to obtain the color and resolution. Your monitor will operate fine in plug and play, later if you want you can install the driver for it, but it is not an absolute requirement. If you have any problems with reinstalling your video or graphics driver, then refer to the FAQ at the top of the Video Forum for reinstalling the different cards or on board drivers.
