After looking here, the APR that came with the 7000 did not have a NIC.  I could not find specifics about the expansion connector.  It is possible it is a BIOS thing and the 7000 BIOS doesn't fully support the 7500 APR - just a guess.

The 7500 info is here.  It also stated the NIC was optional, so make sure it is physically in there and reseat it if it is.

I believe my 7500 APR has the NIC as the LEDs in the socket light up.

It's looking as though the 7000 BIOS doesn't support the 7500 APR.  I have the latest BIOS (A15), but there's no mention of NIC or APR in the BIOS setup screens. 

I'll have to consider other methods of attaching the 7000 to the network.
