One interesting thing I noticed is when I take out the 8gb sticks and put in the 4GB sticks, I do get the onscreen alert that the memory size has changed. So it must be seeing it. It’s just not letting the boot up fully complete.
I would suggest 8GB into CPU0 Dimm1 and CPU1 Dimm2 totalling 16GB outherwise since memory is cheap go 4x8GB = 32BGB then insert them into CPU0 Dimms 1&2 CPU1 Dimms 1&2 Check the memory chart listed at the start of this topic. Pleanty of memory kits for the T7910 on eBay, make sure it's 2400MHz DDR4
@bradthetechnut You are right, there does appear to be a discrepancy. I do have 2400MHz memory installed, and Ubuntu reports that its being used as 2400MHz memory.
I think what’s happening with mine is the memory I got isn’t true server memory. It’s PC4-2400T-RDB-10, so I ordered some PC4-2400T-RB1-11. Should be here later this week.

Suddenly, I feel better....

If anyone has a good reference for decoding the segments of a module type (rdb-10 vs. rb1-11), I’d be grateful. I wasn’t able to find much out there.
