inspirion 9100 bios password reset

Question

I RECENTLY BECAME A PROUD OWNER OF A INSPIRON 9100 LAPTOP. TWO DAYS AFTER RECEIVING IT MY 12 YR OLD SON TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF(I DID GIVE HIM PERMISSION TO BROWSE ON IT THOUGH) TO MAKE A ADMIN BIOS PASSWORD AND NOW I CANT CHANGE ANY OF MY BIOS SETTINGS SERVICE TAG # 5175S51 (ERIC LAING) COULD SOME ONE PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE CANT RECALL WHAT HE SET AS THE PASSWORD!! I VE BEEN TOLD ABOUT THE BATTERY INSIDE THE RTC, BUT ON A $3800 LAPTOP NO ONE IS REMOVING ANY SCREWS!!!! Well, you don't have to remove any screws.  Just call tech support. They have a master password for the laptops. Tell them what happened and they will give ti to you within minutes.

Just make sure before you call you have all your invoices and documents available so that you can prove your ownership of that laptop.

And request a service call on the notebook - the Caps Lock key is stuck down.

I think you paid way to much for that modelb since as john pointed out the CAPS LOCK KEY is stuck.

it also seems as though the '!' key is a bit sticky ...  you should really have that checked out...

What we are all really saying is ALL CAPS is shouting in the forums and if people just use caps for typing, it takes away the shout for when it is necessary.  GET IT??!!

Btw, how did you build a $3800 9100? That sounds like you got an Extreme Edition processor on there.

You could change your nick while you're at it. And fix the Caps key, because nobody likes to be screamed at. Plus that ! key needs the auto-push function turned off, it seems to be out of hand. Lastly, I think you need to find a few more lives. The computer still runs, doesn't it? It will run until Tech Support can unset it for you, won't it? Or did he lock out the harddrive too?

We people here in the forums like the other people to be polite. Please try to help keep it that way. Ok? Ranting and raving is out of place here, I think. If you need to loose that pent-up anger that you ought to get rid of, go out to the garage and scream at the car. Being mad doesn't help anybody.
