You should really contact the vendor of your software to find this answer. I suggest doing a search on the Internet for this rogue file or reinstalling the software application.
Thanks for your answer, but the software-faq tells me to ask the hardware-vendor.
Is there any way to get that dll for the TI-combo-carddrive? Or is there an other dll that replaces the ct32.dll? The dll should belong to the hardware driver.
The executables should run at least under Windows XP and Windows98. Under this systems the CTAPI libraries have other names than under Unix-like systems. Towitoko drivers are: "c:\windows\ct32.dll" "c:\windows\cttwkw32.dll" This is the path you should give as "driver" in the "[term]" section of your configuration file. configure sets path and name of the global configuration file according to the target system: Windows "c:\windows\libchipcard.ini"
Thank you SpeedStep, your help is very much appreciated! The smartcard-reader seems to be working just fine so the driver must be installed correctly. Unfortunately even in the driver-update there doesn´t appear a single dll-file. I´ve already tried to configure my homebanking-software to use any of the dlls in windows / windows system32 that might have something to do with the smartcard but it didn´t work out.
In my whole system there´s no ct32.dll. Do you have any idea for which dll I should try looking for? Maybe TI just names it different.
So far I´m pretty much disappointed of the internal smartcard-reader. And I´m simply not willing to install my old towitoko drive on my D800.
I´m learning more and more about smartcard-drives trying get my homebanking-software running. Now I found out, that the drive needs to be CT-API compatible.
So my question to dell support is:
a) is the Texas Instruments smartcard-drive in my latitude CT-API compliant and if so
SpeedStep, are you sure it would be a good idea to install towitoko drivers? Do they work with my Texas Instruments combo-chipdrive? I thought that these drivers were hardware-specific...
Although I do have an external towitoko-drive I still want to use the internal TI-drive of my D800.
Please confirm me your advice as I´m not quite sure if installing towitoko drivers wouldn´t harm the TI-installation.
TIA Bart S.
Now I installed the towitoko-driver but as expected they didn´t even recognize the internal chipdrive from Texas Instruments.
this will definately be my last try to get this simple piece of information from you and then I won´t bother you or any other dell support-person again, as well as I won´t buy any other dell product because of this annoying lack of service:
Is the smartcard-reader (TI ComboPC-Card bus / smartcard) in my D800 CT-API / HBCI-comliant or not? If it is: where can I get the needed dll´s (because they are not in the driver-package in the support section)?
The drive is definately HBCI-compliant. With a new version of the software I use it doesn´t have to be CT-API-compliant anymore. The pc/sc-standard is enough. Everything works just fine. :-)

Hi Bart,
i followed your posting and i´m surprised that dell will give such bad answers....
You wrote that your system will work now after installing the latest version of the "software".
Which software do you mean?
I´m going to buy a new homebanking software and i don´t know if the card reader in the D800 will work for me for hbci.
So you wrote that it will work.
Does it work with a new driver software for the reader or do you mean it will work with the latest version of the homebanking software?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Stefan

Hi!
I use Starmoney (german software) V.4 for homebanking. V.3 still needed a ctapi-driver whilst V.4 works just fine without.
