Try the generic fix for Word problems. Make sure your system is set to show hidden files and folders. Do a search for
normal.dot. Right-click and delete every occurrence that is found. When you open Word again it will generate a new normal template and the problem should be resolved.
Hi Denny, thanks for your assistance. I tried your suggestion--now the 276k document will load (albeit quite slowly), but then I can't do anything with it because THEN it will crash. Would the fact that I have Adobe "save as PDF" enabled have anything to do with that? Tlhanks, Laura
