The new bios notes say it adds a new processor (in other words, it will recognise the 3.2HT I would guess.)
And a new bios for the Geoforce chip..
I loaded it on, and the first thing I noticed is that it reduced the clock speed of the geforceFX by 10mhz and its memory by about 25mhz.
I immediatly used the registry key to add the clock setting sliders so I could put it back where it was..
The graphic 3d performance was bad already, with the new default clock settings, its totally abysmal..
Don't load it unless you plan to upgrade your processor or you are having display issues with your geforce.
(BTW, has anyone else noticed that the ATI 9000 is not an option for the 5150 on dells site anymore?
the only options now are 32 or 63 mb geforce FX.)
I've found that the A25 bios works pretty good with the 5150 ATI 9000 card. I had problems with the A24 version. So if your planning on upgrading the bios, make sure you upgrade to A25. A24 makes the video act really jittery.
As for the driver, I swapped to the detonator 52.13 driver and mobilenvidia's inf file (see his posts on the forum).
His inf gives you every option possible for your card.. the clock sliders are just one of them.
If you'd prefer to keep your existing driver, do a google search for "coolbits registry tweak" and download that, its just a tiny reg file that contains the key to give you your clock sliders.
What operating system do you have and what did you modify in the reg key to get the clock sliders so you could change the clocks back on the geforceFX.
I have a inspiron 5150 3.06 gig non HT, and I've been running A29 bios for ages now...
Don't know what to tell you, but you should be able to load it.. there is no division of bios for the 5150, its a case of one bios fits all variations of 5150...

Can anyone tell me if A25:
Currently running A03 without problems, and reluctant to update if no real benefit. Using ATI Radeon 9000, so graphics is apparently a non-issue.
Thanks.

I am dual booting winXP with linux..

hope that helps
