void is perhaps the wrong term ... stuff that breaks as a result of your action may not be covered ... then again, considering how I would never send my hard-drive in when I ship my system off, I don't really know how they would tell.
Simply installing the drivers will not, but you also wont be supported. If, by installing these drivers, you damage the machine (by overclocking), then yes, your warrenty is void.
As nemesis suggested though, they'd be hard pressed to find out if they dont see the drivers installed.

i'd still blame it on the hardware -- this stuff should auto-shutdown or throttle when it gets too hot
if it's just hotter temps within normal range causing early death, then it's the hardware's fault as your within its designed temp range
