Maybe try and give them a call and ask. I don't think there is any page with the price's listed. You may be able to figure out how much it cost by looking at the upgrade cost on a lappy that has it as an option also.
Also, about NFSU. Do not update to 1.30 unless you absolutely have to. Not only did EA force V-Sync on, but all AA and Aniso. From what I can tell NFSU does a sort of test on your hardware and sets itself up. So if you have a low end card it may keep the AA and Aniso off completely. But with a higher end card it may or may not turn them on. I know it does on my FX5900U, and it never did on my Ti4200.
Anyone experience any bad sides yet? I'm planning on doing it myself, I've never done any upgrades to a laptop before, but hey.. I gotta start sooner or later. (I've unscrewed/screwed countless desktops, mind you).
My reason for upgrading to the 9000 would be for pixel shader support, would this do the trick? Is it able to play games such as Deus Ex 2 - Invisible War + Prince of persia? 'cause if it's not, i won't be bothered...
hmm... I'm not sure if it can really play Prince of Persia w/o showing artifacts w/o some tweaking. My friend with a different laptop but with a Radeon 9000 shows artifacts on there when playing, little boxes of things that shouldn't be there. It works fine on a 9200. But I'm not 100% sure if it will happen.
I have the 5150, and I noticed that they started offering a 64meg Nvidia 5200 card for it. I imagine that if the ATI 9000 works in the 5100s this card would too. It is a little quicker than the ATI 9000 is certain respects, and has DX 9 support, (although, the card is too slow to really take advantage of the Dx9 extensions, and I haven't seen any games that use DX9 anyway.) It may be quite a bit more expensive than the ATI 9000 though. I haven't been able to figure it out, but it seems like the ATI9000 runs about $130, I'd imagine the nVidia 5200 would run around $150 or even $190. If anybody knows any details about the nVidia 5200, please fill us in. I would like to look into upgrading myself if it is worth it. (I have the ATI 9000 64 meg card.)
Just letting you all know that my first M9 card bit the dust earlier this week. I started my computer up and it sorta did a weird thing on startup. Looked like everything was normal and then these weird pixels started showing up everywhere (like the memory was fried). Restarting it was worse....everything was garbled and way beyond readable. Took a few restarts before I could get a readable screen that had weird random pixels everywhere. I tried all sorts of stuff to no avail. Put the old 7500 back in and everything was back to normal. E-mailed tech support, they sent out a new card, and volia everything is fine again. It was probably just a bum card but I thought I would let everybody here know about it for future reference.
Ive been following progress and decided to give the 64mb geforce a try, been running 2 weeks no probs even overclocked. I have another question though ... can i put in the 3.2 ht mp4? I have 2 gig ram with the 5150 bios in my 5100 and the mobo are same so there should be no prob right?

Maybe this is asking too much of a laptop but has anyone played BF1942 or Call of Duty on a radeon 9000 GPU?

Hey guys, first post here.
I read most of this thread in entirety, but I just wanted a sweet and simple answer:
What other video cards can work in my 5100 besides the 7500 32 and 64 MB.
Thanks :)
(Oh, and how can I order them? )

Alright, let me ask this question perhaps:
What is the best video card I can put in the 5100 and have it work to your knowledge?
