Well, for one, modern laptops will have a varying draw depending on load. But, best bang for hte watt is going to come from a small Pentium M based machine like the 600m or the 300m.

Please let me know your idling and busy running defrag wattage comsumption if you can determine it.

I get my stats from PowerChute, the APS/battery backup software, simply cause I have one, I like it cause it gives me current stats and stuff, just food for thought if you have a working UPS unit for your unit.

I don't have a wattage meter, so I can't help you beyond saying that a Pentium M based machine won't ever draw more than 65W.
