Update:

 

Now the monitor is failing to work at all! The backlight is the only thing going, nothing is coming up on the screen, and there are lines going from top to bottom. The whole screen is changing to green to blue to white whenever you do something.... Again it works when I have it plugged into a CRT screen, but the laptop screen has failed to show me anything.

 

Please could someone help!!
