According to the documentation for the I9100, it has 3 4-pin USB 2.0-compliant connectors.

yeah that is what i thought. but for some reason they dont arnt labeled as usb2 connections
when i plug in the usb2 device it says,

device can perform faster,
This USB device can perform faster if you wconnect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Port

when i click on the little bubble that pops up. it gives me a list of ports. hard to explain

what should they be labeled as in the device manager?

Suggest you go into device manager and under the USB host controller> properties> driver then click on the update driver button and let the hardware wizard automatically find the drivers.

This can also happen if a device draws too much power - use a powered hub or a self-powered USB device.

the external hard drive shouldnt be driving too much power because it has its own power source. I tried talking to tech support but they are frustrating. And it is irritating to trasfer files to the hard drive on the USB1 speed yuck
