INSPIRON 9200 w/1350 Slow when on AC but fast on battery ???

Question

I know this is weard but i play some online games and when the laptop is plugged in i get a horrible ping.  As soon as i unplug the AC the connection is great.  I have tried removing and reinstalling the drivers, setting everything to max performance, installing the drivers from dells site but nothing helped. It seems like this should be the other way around but i am out of ideas.  Any help would be great.      Thanks

i see no changes in ping times when plugged in or on battery, with settings on max performance with my 9200 with a 1450.

OK i did a little more searching and it happens when i tell the quickset to run @ max performance. When i tell it to run on max battery it is fast. I removed and reinstalled the latest q/s from Dell but still is not working properly. Any more ideas.
