TrueMobile 2300 and Windows Messenger

Question

Greetings, I recently bought a Dell TrueMobile 2300 to go with my 4600C desktop. The TrueMobile works fine except for one problem, and it is a major problem for me. It has to do with Windows Messenger. When I am not connceted to my business via VPN, Windows Messenger (.NET Messenger Service account) works fine. I can communicate with my friends, family, etc. However, when I conncet via VPN and try to use the Exchange Instant Messaging account in Windows Messenger to communicate with my colleagues, it just hangs. I cannot communicate with them and I have to forceably close the application. Now I am pretty sure it has something to do with opening ports in the TrueMobile or something, but everything I have tried has failed (I even set the setting to enable UPnP to see if that would help -- it seemed recommended by many on the internet to help with Windows Messenger problems -- but that didn't work). Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions on how I could set up my TrueMobile to make this work? One more data point -- I have an Intel Wireless Gateway that I used before I got the TrueMobile and Windows Messenger worked fine (non-VPN and VPN, all aspects). There were no issues. So that makes me believe even more that it something I need to set within the TrueMobile. Thank you, - Joel
