Yes. I use it over a network with a Hawking (Parallel) mini print server and LPR protocol. OSX will print to it using the "Generic Postscript" driver or the Lexmark 530 (I think) driver since it's made by Lexmark. I've never tried to go direct from the MAC to the 1700 with USB.
