I've updated. No problems. Actually seems to be better on the heat problems I was having with memory overheating and throttling back the CPU while playing games.

A16

Systems: Dell Inspiron 600m Series
Version: A16
Build Date: 01/18/2005

ATI Radeon 9000 Video BIOS version is 8.002.007.019

The following updates were made to the A15 BIOS to create the A16 BIOS:

Issues Fixed:
1. Fixed an intermittent situation where the system may not resume from suspend.

2. Fixed an intermittent situation where the system would not see the docking station
after hot docking if BIOS is set to "Warm Dock".

3. Updated PXE code for the Broadcom 4401.

4. Fixed an intermittent situation where a system with two batteries could hibernate when
the primary battery is critically low, even if the second battery is fully charged.

Did just that and problem was corrected within 10 minutes.......

Very quick response to issue.......

Fix was boot from 3 1/2 floppy and use command line switch with the bios update "[bios exe]/forcetype"

Thumbs UP!
