New Notebook speakers & Lost Equalizer on 5160

Question

Recently bought Kensington 33130 notebook speakers - which have produced outstanding sound until today when I noticed the icon for the CMI?? equalizer was not sitting in the system tray (so I could not play around and change the sound).  Went into the control panel to access it this way, but when I double clicked nothing happened.  Prior to purchasing these speakers, I did not know this existed.  Seemed to appear after plugging in these speakers.  Went into add/remove programs and removed it thinking it would come back and work properly after a reboot.  No such luck.  Anyone know how I can get this back?  I have already done a system restore going back a week.  Thanks in advance for any help.

MikeBetty, Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum. Are you sure there was no supplementary software that came with the speakers?

No, just plugged them in and they worked.  A day later, I noticed the icon in the System Tray for what turned out to be an equalizer with a corresponding icon in the Control Panel - that was clickable at that time.  Would this be part of the Audio Driver and I just never noticed it before?  Should I reinstall the Audio Driver?  Thanks in advance for info.

Have upgraded audio driver to what Dell has on downloads page.  This has made no difference.  Funny thing is when PC  is rebooted, little tiny icon flashes in system tray and then disappears.  Icon in control panel is still not clickable.  I am finding NO info on the web for CMI Audio Config.
