Dell G3 3579 Battery on High Performance Mode

Hello, I purchased a Dell G3 3579 two months ago and have been running Metro Exodus on it using the high-performance toggle on the battery power options. This has caused the laptop to increase fan speed continuously even through less demanding parts of the game, and increase in noise drastically. It is as if someone is blowing air right next to your ear.

As I unplugged the charger from the laptop, I noticed the metal tip of the plug that is inserted into the port was scorching hot to the touch and I had to drop it immediately... Then, the battery stopped charging into the laptop and I brought it into Dell Technical Support Depot to replace it because of a fried port or charger.

Has anyone else experienced this with their model? You'd imagine high-performance mode to improve the performance on the laptop instead of forcing it towards its own heat death.
