System will arrive soon, can I get drivers for this OS version for Samsung printers?

Blogs seem to recommend upgrades to newer OS...but tricky for people like me who never used UNIX, only VMS and Windows and Mac's.

Update:  Just found GENERIC LINUX driver on Samsung ML1450 link, hope it works for Ubuntu 8.0.4 with no major pain...
