HELP! My computer shutsdown and will not restart!
I have a DELL Dimension 4100.
If I run scandisk, disk defragmentor, or any other program that requires a long time of operation, my computer shutsdown.
I have shut off the screensaver, turned all the energy performance (energy saver) functions to "NEVER turn off". However, if I run any of those long programs, my computer goes into hiberation, I think, and I can not wake it up.
The only way to get my computer back is to pull the power plug from the back of the computer and wait 30 secs before reconnecting. Then I have to reboot the computer, so all the work I had to wait to be completed before never happened.
How can I shut this feature (Hibernation or what ever it is) off, so the time that I spend is not a complete waste.
Thanks.
