Today, I tried to open up my Inspiron 8200, but the display would not open. No matter what, I could not get the screen up. Sensing something was going on, I took the system apart. Upon removing the LCD, I realized that I am possibly the first Inspiron user this has happened to. Observe:

This is the unbroken LCD support clasp on the left side of my LCD screen.

And this would be the broken clasp. Neeedless to say, this is the reason that I cannot use my system. This does seem extremely, extremely weird. I've never heard of this part breaking before. Come to think of it, I've never heard of this part before.

It looks like I'll need a new LCD or at least a new one of these clasps. Because I have committed the heinous crime of being 1 month out of warranty, Dell wont lift a finger to help me out. Does anyone know any places in or around the Manhattan area which can either help me fix this or sell the part needed?

Failing that, does anyone know how to get a new LCD/LCD clasp from Dell?
