1505FP - is it an 8-bit panel?

I am considering buying a 1505FP but before I do, I would like to know whether the panel is 8-bit, i.e. can represent 16.7 million colours without dithering or if it is only a 6-bit panel.

Also, who is the panel manufacturer (not the assembler of the whole monitor) and where can I find technical specifications for it?

Thanks.

stakhanovite,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Click the link below for information on this monitor.

Er, I know about that link but it does not state whether the 1505FP is an 8-bit panel, nor does it indicate who manufactured the panel. The safety registration lists Lite-on as the monitor manufacturer but I was wondering whether it is they who actually produce the panel. I'm a Debian user so I know how to RTFineM ;-).

You have 21 days from the orignal invoice date to return the monitor if you are not happy with it.  Test it out a lot and decide if it's for you...good luck.
